As from September 1st 2004, Sweden 's TTS Ships Equipment AB, headquartered in Gothenburg and part of Norway 's TTS Marine ASA, has won approval from leading Classification Society, Lloyd 's Register (LR) to carry out Examination work of cargo access equipment onboard ro/ro vessels and vessels with hatch covers.
This includes the examination of cargo access equipment onboard ro/ro vessels - including bow, stern and side inner doors, and tightness testing of hatch covers using specialized ultrasonic equipment.
The certificate, which is applicable up till 2009, is issued in accordance with IACS Unified Requirement (UR) Z17 ( Rev.4,2003) Procedural Requirements for Service Suppliers.
TTS Ships Equipment AB is one of the world 's leaders in the design, manufacture and supply of cargo access equipment for a variety of ship designs. Many of these items of equipment come from the former Kvaerner Ships Equipment (KSE) range, taken over by TTS during the late nineties.
